Last week's
California appellate court ruling
prohibiting parents from home schooling
their children unless they hold a teaching
credential is anti-American.

them. Tens of billions of dollars are spent
in California alone on public education, and
the K-12 system, with a few exceptions, is
failing the children. The home schooling movement is
simply an attempt by concerned parents to
ensure that their children receive an
education that prepares them for the
challenges of life. Parents want a viable
alternative to failure.

children's destiny. Parents are their
children's first teachers. There's no reason
to believe that they can't remain their
teachers beyond the age of 5. In fact, the
evidence shows that in all 50 states home
schooled children are succeeding.

enough about their children to invest
hundreds of hours per year for the
betterment of their children. When the
public schools fail to teach children,
parents rightly decide to do it themselves.
And they often do it better.
