Our Mission

Mission Statement: To help Republican members of Congress and candidates communicate through speeches crafted with clarity, cogency, and passion.

The founding of the United States was truly revolutionary. For the first time in history, with the Declaration of Independence, our nation recognized that our rights – including “Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness” - were unalienable and endowed by our Creator, not by our government. The Constitution then established a Republic designed to preserve these individual freedoms; and it has endured longer than any other, because our founders understood that there is an inverse relationship between the power of the government and the power of the individual.

The survival of the United States has never been assured. Our history is proof that we will remain free only as long as we stay true to the principles of our founding. Today, we are at war with Islamic jihadists, who seek the weapons to destroy our society. Our government is bankrupted by decades of overspending on ‘cradle to grave’ redistributionist programs that punish success and reward failure, fostering dependence rather than independence. Our system of public education, controlled by the teachers’ unions, is indoctrinating rather than educating our children.

Liberty still unites us as Americans, but not all of us believe our liberty is under attack. If we lose this struggle, we will have consigned ourselves to despotism. Government will not only confiscate most of our pay, it will determine practically everything we do in our daily lives – from what car we drive to what food we eat to whom we choose as a doctor. Government will become our master rather than our servant.

If Republicans are going to build upon the momentum of our recent electoral triumphs, we must spell out in concrete terms what common-sense conservative policies can do to solve the ‘kitchen table’ problems families face every day. It’s not sufficient, for example, to say that tax cuts will stimulate the economy. We need to delineate more clearly how across-the-board tax cuts directly result in job creation.

I had the opportunity a few years ago to visit with former presidential speechwriter Jamie Humes. Jamie told me a good speech has visual images that elicit emotion. He said a speech should be lyrical – more like a song than an ordinary article or editorial. An obvious example of this is Churchill’s famous line “From Stettin in the Baltic to Trieste in the Adriatic, an iron curtain has descended across the continent …” I have taken the advice to heart.

Conservatism means staying true to the principles upon which our country was founded. I believe we can reintroduce Americans to America by reminding them the Constitution limits government power in order to secure the blessings of liberty. It has become my life’s ambition to help Republicans convey that message to the American people.

Why employ me as a speechwriter?

* Passionate – Helping Republicans communicate is my life’s ambition.
* Specialized – Speechwriting is my sole focus. Your staff won’t have to do double-duty.
* Knowledgeable – I’m well-versed on a wide range of issues from national security to economics.
* Collaborative – It’s not my speech, it’s your speech.
* Open – Utilizing the sharing functionality in Google Docs, your edits can be made in real-time.
* Prolific – Capable of writing a 3,000 word draft in 48 hours.
* Affordable – $50 per hour.
* Available – I live in Massachusetts, but can travel to Washington, DC on short-notice.

I’ve dedicated my professional life to speechwriting because the future of the United States depends upon whether the Republican message resonates with voters. Speechwriting should be a collaborative process, and I’m always looking forward to working with existing congressional or campaign staff.
